Rockwell Automation unveils a new logo and brand promise

15 November, 2018

At its annual Automation Fair in the US, Rockwell Automation has unveiled a new logo and a new brand promise: “expanding human possibility by combining the imaginations of people with the intelligence of machines”. It says that the promise supports its emphasis on bringing the connected enterprise to life and how, by linking people, machines and data across an entire business, manufacturers can become more effective and productive.

Also at the Fair – held this year in Philadelphia – Rockwell announced a software suite that is the first to combine its own technologies with those of PTC, in which it took a $1bn stake earlier this year. Called FactoryTalk InnovationSuite, powered by PTC, the suite will enable companies to optimise their industrial operations and to enhance productivity by providing improved data and insights. The suite delivers complete visibility of operations and systems status from one source of information inside an organisation.

The suite will improve connectivity to operational technology (OT) devices on the plant floor, supporting the rapid, scalable, and secure connection of the most commonly used industrial equipment. Combined with data from information technology (IT) applications and systems, it will give decision-makers a complete digital representation of their industrial equipment, lines, and facilities from anywhere in the enterprise.

Speaking at the Fair, Rockwell’s chairman and CEO, Blake Moret said that the new brand “emphasises the central role that people play in advanced manufacturing and underscores our focus on ways we maximise performance, advance innovation and drive growth. Together with our partners at Automation Fair, we are demonstrating how to bring the connected enterprise to life, empowering our customers to build more efficient, nimble and productive businesses.”

At the Fair, Rockwell and members of its Partner Network are showcasing how new technologies are supporting:

Data analytics and augmented reality: Rockwell is expanding its portfolio and tapping into its recent partnership with PTC to help customers increase productivity and plant efficiency, reduce operational risk and provide better system interoperability.

Innovation: Customers are being given an early look at how new technologies will change manufacturing and production, including artificial intelligence, augmented reality, wearables and other disruptive technologies.
