Drives & Controls Show is postponed until January 2021

13 March, 2020

DFA Media, organiser of Drives & Controls Exhibition and the other shows that were due to take place at the Birmingham NEC in April, has decided to postpone the events because of the Coronavirus outbreak.

The exhibitions – Fluid Power & Systems, Air-Tech, Plant & Asset Management and Smart Industry Expo, as well as Drives & Controls – will now take place at the NEC from 25-27 January, 2021, in halls 9 and 10, alongside the Mach exhibition, which also been rescheduled by its organiser, the Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA).

Ian Atkinson, the event director and managing director of DFA Media, says: “We have been following UK Government guidelines and working with the rolling advice from the public health authorities and other organisations, but the effects, actual and projected, of Coronavirus are becoming increasingly evident across all aspects of our lives both here in the UK and across the globe. As a responsible events organiser, ensuring the health and well-being of all our exhibitors, contractors and visitors (many of whom face travel restrictions) has to be our top priority, and it is therefore with reluctance that we have taken the decision to postpone the event until January.

“By working closely with our venue partners, the NEC," he adds, "we have been able to secure rescheduled dates for these events in January, alongside Mach. Current modelling projections suggest that the virus will peak in the Spring and decline thereafter, allowing our exhibitors the opportunity to present their technologies, innovations and solutions in an upturning market with no restrictions on travel.

“The rescheduled dates provide clarity and ensure we have the time and the space to deliver the same high-quality event we promised, providing a safe and secure environment conducive to business, networking and career development for the manufacturing sector that we serve.”

DFA Media will be contacting exhibitors to discuss arrangements for the rescheduled shows.
